Poster One's viewpoints are all near the very rim of the basin. These four panoramas employ the Panomapping (TM) technigue of hopping from mountaintop to mountaintop in a progression. Unlike Panomap Two, Panomap Poster One does not have features labelled on the images themselves. Image One begins the journey on the eastern flank of the Tahoe Basin high in the Carson Range near Spooner Pass. Hopping to the northeast corner of the basin, Image 2 presents the entire lake as seen from above Crystal Bay & Incline Village. Hopping to Image 3 reveals the region hidden in the previous image behind the ridge that rises from Stateline Point to Mt Baldy - This includes Agate Bay, Carnelian Bay, Kings Beach and the lava flows that form Mt Watson & Mt Pluto. The final hop is then to Mt Watson, the viewpoint of Image 4. This panorama gives an unobstructed view of the entire Pacific Crest above Lake Tahoe's west shore, Tahoe City and north to Squaw Valley.
Be sure to look at Panomap Two which is designed to complement this poster.
